What is a Test Screening?

A test screening is a preview screening of a film before its general release in order to gauge audience reaction. The preview screening audience matches a particular demographic profile, based on the film's target audience.

Once the screening is over, each audience member fills out a questionnaire to provide feedback to the Filmmaker. The Filmmaker uses this feedback to re-edit the film, or shoot new scenes, in order to improve the quality of the film.

Films that have test screenings stand a much better chance at getting into film festivals. Film festival acceptance opens up distribution options, and increases opportunities for monetization.

Every major film studio conducts test screenings for their new releases.

Your time is valuable, and Test Screener wants to make sure that you feel your experience on this site is worthwhile. That's why you'll be getting paid 20 cents per minute, based on the length of the film you review.

The screening process is simple. First, you'll be emailed if there's a test screening available for you to join. If you decide to participate, you'll watch the film, and then complete a brief questionnaire. Once your feedback has been accepted, you'll be paid in a few days. So, if you watch and review a feature film that's 90 minutes long, you'll get paid $18.
